The Perfect Jeans....Little In The Middle Premium Denim

Most of you who know me are aware that I don’t typically gush over things. I tend to be a little bit picky and somewhat of a straight shooter. Well friends,  I’m about to gush because I am so excited about Little in the Middle Jeans!!

Finding the perfect jeans, or even a pair that looks half decent can be both a challenging and daunting task for many women. Quite often jeans are too long or short, poor quality, too tight in the rear and way too loose in the waist. Premium denim is a must for every woman’s closet but usually isn’t available above a size 32, which comprises less that 12% of the female population. What about real women, with real curves?

I’ve tried virtually every type of denim on the market with little or no luck. In fact, I’ve even resorted to ordering men’s jeans in an attempt to get high quality denim to fit my size 16-18 frame. That was until I found Little in The Middle.

Recently I was lucky enough to review a pair of Little in the Middle Empowered Jeans in Deep Sea. They arrived quickly to Canada and with no hassles at all. I opened them up and knew immediately that I was going to be happy. The denim was so soft and was such high quality. I put them on, looked in the mirror, and immediately went to the computer to decide on my next purchase while their Spring Sale is on. The black and white are on the top of my must have list and are sale for $89.99 right now.

Little In The Middle Premium Denim are by far the best pair of jeans I’ve had for my pear shaped body type. The pocket placement is perfect and really accentuates the female curves. I’ve always had a small waist and big hips and these jeans fit perfectly and they make my butt look great! The Empowered style is a mid rise jean in a boot cut. They sit right below your belly button which is the best spot to keep things “tucked in place. The back rise is slightly higher than the front which gives the illusion of perfect proportions on any figure. This particular style has a modest price tag of $129.99 and is worth every penny.

This company is a dream come true. Little in the Middle jeans come in sizes from 00 up to 20 and are designed to fit women with small waists and slightly larger hips. Um....isn’t that every woman? They are priced well for premium denim and range from $99 to $149. They come in a variety of styles and colors. If you are a curvy fashionista and have had trouble finding the right jeans to fit your figure look no further! At last an affordable premium denim.

In 2002, Lee Ann Park started the company as a result of her own frustration in finding the perfect pair of jeans for her voluptuous figure. Using her patented “one up” sizing chart,  Lee Ann started designing premium denim. The sizing chart is based on the premise that a woman’s hips and waist are not always the same size. For example a size 8.1 is designed for a woman with a size 8 waist, but a size 10 through the hips and thighs. The result is no more gaping waist and a perfect fit elsewhere. Little in the Middle will help you find the right size too. Go on over to the website and take their interactive Sizing Survey  to find out the correct size for you. Little In The Middle has been receiving a lot of positive press coverage and praise. Their jeans are
featured in various magazines including Plus Model, In Style, Chi, Cosmo Girl, OK Weekly and
Jupiter. Simply Chic on MSN Lifestyle, and Bliss Style have featured them, as have numerous blogs
and style websites. They are even one of the best sellers on the My True Fit Website.
Finally jeans for real women with various body types!

Whitney Thompson wins America's Next Top Model

Some of you may be familiar with the name Whitney Thompson.  Recently she was the winner of America's Top Model and is the first "plus sized" woman to win the title.  Whitney competed in the tenth cycle of the show and was competing against thirteen other women.

As part of the prize package awarded to her for winning Top Model, Thompson received  contracts with CoverGirl cosmetics and Elite Model Management. She also received the cover and six-page editorial spread in the July 2008 issue of Seventeen Magazine.

Thompson said this about her win:
"People always say you have to be stick-skinny, emaciated and unhealthy and I’ve kind of stood up for [being full-figured] my whole life. I’m not going to lose 50 pounds – if someone asks me to do that, I’ll go to another [modeling] agency. I’ve already heard online from boys and girls all over the world who are dealing with eating disorders. They’re thanking me for standing up and saying, ‘I am a plus-size model and I am beautiful.’ This is what people should look like rather than skin-and-bones, which is disgusting and sends a bad message to people everywhere.”

The win is not without controversy. Some "plus sized" advocates believe that she is not "plus sized" at all.  What does this win mean for women?  Is society becoming more accepting or do we simply have a new idea of what it means to be "full figured"?
